“You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed.” John Bunyan

I ran across this quote recently and it has caused me to think. It is a reminder for me that I should be in constant prayer and to pray before I do anything.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray continually…”

What would this look like in my case: to pray before I look at my phone or turn on the TV in the morning, before I make that difficult phone call, text, or email. To pray while I’m driving, working, and going about my daily activities. In an article I read by Rick Warren he said, “You’re good at talking to yourself…Start talking to God instead.”

Ephesians 6:18 says, “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion…”

We can talk to God anywhere, anytime, and about anything as the Spirit leads. It is so amazing that the God of the universe wants to be included in every part of our lives. What an amazing God! Thank you LORD that we have the confidence that you are with us and that you care about every detail of our lives.
