One of the great characters of the Old Testament is Esther. She came from nothing and rose to sit at the top of the world. And when her people needed her, she was in just the right place to make a difference. At first, she was reluctant to use the full weight of her position for fear that revealing she was Jewish might endanger all that she had gained. But she was prodded to consider that it was God that guided and protected her into the positions she was in “…for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14b NIV).

I can say unequivocally that God’s plan doesn’t always seem like it’s headed in the direction I expected. But His plan is better. I’ve heard that my whole life, and I often asked God why things were going the way they were at the time. I questioned His plan for my life and the lives of others. With time, I have seen tragedies bloom into unthinkable blessings. I’ve seen mistakes that I’d thought I’d made turn into situations that were only something God could have made happen. There have been doors painfully, and what felt cruelly, closed that turned into life changing opportunities and new directions and blessings in my life. The more I see of His plan, the more I trust.

That brings us to you, dear reader. You are where you are “for such a time as this.” This is such an exciting time to be a part of God’s plan. If a member of Trinity, ask someone to come. If not a member, we welcome you to come to Trinity. If you feel the Lord calling you to get involved, there couldn’t be a better time. Step into the Lord’s plan. Pray for God to guide you to where He wants you to be. Give where He leads you. You won’t regret it.
