Summer Time for the Youth Ministry

This summer, God has once again proven Himself to be faithful. He has transformed lives, changed hearts, and began to mold and make us into who He wants us to be. He has showed us the importance of sharing His love with not only one another, but also to a world that so desperately needs His love, hope, mercy, and forgiveness. So, what has God been up to in the Student Ministry this summer?

Super Summer was life-changing for several of our students. In order to go our students had to share their faith story in front of their peers on a Wednesday night. They were amazing! Many, for the very first time, wrote out their story and were able to share without any hesitation. It is a blessing that our students are beginning to understand their story and how to share it at such a young age. The entire week of Super Summer was filled with evangelism training and how to share their story. It was a rewarding week and gave me so much hope for the future of the church. God showed up this summer at Super Summer.

Camp Eagle was another rewarding experience this year. While it was held at a new location, for many of our students incredible things happened. God always seems to put the right students in the right place at the right time when it comes to camp. Several important things happened through Camp Eagle this year.

First, there were many new faces that went with us. This is important because it allows the Student Ministry to continue to reach new students and families. Second, God brought the Student Ministry together in community. We have been focusing on community for the past year and God was faithful in helping us take a huge step forward during our week at Camp Eagle. Finally, Cameron Ingram made the decision to follow Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at camp this year. We are so excited for what God is doing in Cameron’s life, and look forward to experiencing his baptism this Sunday, July 28th.

The Honduras mission trip was a huge success for our students and for the adults that were involved. As a result of the mission trip, not only were our students prepared to share their stories, but a group of Student Ministry parents are also now equipped to share their stories as well. We had a great time connecting with other students from Mt. Horeb Baptist Church ministering to children through the church’s mission, and sharing the gospel with over 2,000 students, teachers, and administrators in the public schools in Honduras. God was so good to allow us to reconnect with old partners in ministry, and to be a part of new partnerships as we traveled to Honduras. Please continue to pray for Pastor Jorge and Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and for Jennifer and Darwin as they continue to minister to Children and Students at The Living Water’s Ranch.

Thank you for all of your prayer and support this summer. I can’t wait to see what God continues to do through the fall semester.
