Strong & Courageous

Proverbs 29:9 states that, “Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained…” —meaning that without a vision we lose our way and we lose focus. During the month of August, through the Ministry Plan and the Town Hall Meeting, Pastor Les put forth a vision for our church. He used an analogy of stepping through a portal into the next 65 years of Trinity. We have such a rich and treasured history at Trinity in which we have built a foundation to move confidently into the future with a mission and vision that will allow us to help transform hearts in San Antonio and the world.

With this mission we have a responsibility to be good stewards of the resources God has provided Trinity and to use these resources to meet the needs of God’s people. The Trinity vision requires us as a church family to search our hearts, and identify if spiritual change is required within us as individuals to give the resources required to fulfill the mission and vision that has been set.

Giving and financial stewardship is a spiritual discipline that all of us must explore to see where we
stand and where God wants us to go. As a church, we have an opportunity to fully participate in the
amazing and exciting vision that is before us. The vision is not about keeping lights on and serving
hot coffee on Sunday mornings. It is a vision that will transform our own hearts as well as the hearts
of others as we reach out to minister to those not only in our city but also our world. We so often get
caught up in the day-to-day operations of the physical church that we lose site of The Church, the
movement of the Holy Spirit and the changing of lives for eternity. The vision we have been given is
not about buildings but about changing lives. We have been blessed with facilities but they are just
tools used by God to transform His people.

Through this vision, we are inviting you to join us on this journey and to invest yourself through the
resources God has given you. God has called us to do this work and as a family of believers it is not
only our responsibility but also our privilege to give our energy, prayers and finances to the vision of
Trinity.

Much like Joshua was called to be strong and courageous, we too are called. The Lord our God is with us wherever we go and He has called us to move forward with Him. Just as God was with Moses and Joshua and did not forsake them, He will not forsake us.

Be strong and courageous and join us as we embark on the next 65 years.
