Seeing How God is Working at Trinity by Mark Barr
Seeing How God is Working at Trinity
My wife, Marcia, and I are visiting Sunday School classes. We are following up on a wonderful suggestion to visit each Sunday School class twice. This experience is providing us a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand how God is working at Trinity Baptist Church in a variety of ways.
1. The Body of Christ at TBC is spiritually alive
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:14
We have been privileged to sit under excellent teaching, among believers who are eager to learn and grow in their walk with the Lord. Sunday School teachers have clearly given sacrificially of their time to prepare lessons under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Class members come with hearts prepared to learn and share. Discussions are lively and rich with
2. The Body of Christ at TBC is loving.
“Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8
The rich fellowship enjoyed by long-time class members is quickly extended to newcomers. We have witnessed classes caring for one another and bearing each other’s burdens in love through prayer and tangible support during challenging times. There is a rich sharing of life experiences that is both refreshing and freeing.
3. The Body of Christ at TBC is servant-hearted.
“Be hospitable to one another without complaint. As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:9-10
The members of Trinity Baptist church serve each other, and they faithfully serve those outside the church in a multitude of ways. We have seen and heard numerous examples of quiet service to others all to the glory of God. We have witnessed members being transparent about their needs and a genuine willingness by others to bear their burdens.
4. The Body of Christ at TBC is giving.
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure,
pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
What a joy to see Bountiful Blessings, our food ministry outreach, supported in so many ways. Others are providing benevolence funds to support members struggling with illness or financial needs. We look forward to visiting more classes and we are so grateful for the vibrant Body of Christ here at Trinity Baptist Church.
