Search Team Recommends Jacob Sensenig

God has answered our prayer! The Minister of Music and Worship Arts Search Team is pleased to introduce you to Jacob Sensenig. He is a very vibrant exciting young man who loves God, people and music! Our search team recognized Jacob’s exceptional talents the very rst time we met and talked with him. My first impressions were WOW – so smart, extremely expressive and articulate, and capable! I am excited about his creativity, worship ideas, and ways to grow our music program here at Trinity. He has an exceptional work ethic, as is evidenced by his many professional experiences, leadership opportunities, honors, and awards. I believe he is going to bring a new excitement to our worship services at Trinity. Jacob is eagerly anticipating the opportunities that lie ahead for him here at Trinity. His mind is already spinning with plans and ideas for the future, which he has shared with us. His love for the Lord and the church is evident in how he sees the church growing into the future. As a chorale member, I am excited about the leadership he will be bringing to our music program at Trinity. His enthusiasm is going to be a blessing, not only for all of us at Trinity, but for our entire community of San Antonio. We look forward to helping Jacob begin a new chapter in his life. He will be marrying Sarah in April, and it will be a joy to help this wonderful couple begin their married life at Trinity, growing together and ministering to all of us. – Nancy Fields

Just reading Jacob’s resume I was exhausted. What this man has accomplished so far, and what he is working towards, both in ministry and music, is extremely impressive! In our interviews, and in person church visits it became immensely clear to me that Jacob was a person who not only had a calling as a wonderful servant leader, but someone who would bring passion, 3 energy, and a freshness to the worship experience at Trinity. I admire his work ethic and his warm and engaging personality, which will reach across Trinity’s five generations . I am proud to have served with such wonderful people on the search team who unanimously called Jacob to be our next Minister of Music and Worship Arts. I look forward with great anticipation to our first worship with Jacob, and I am thankful to God for Trinity Baptist Church and the exciting plans he has for us. – Matt Till

It has been a pleasure to get to know Jacob and his fiancée, Sarah, during the interview process. Jacob is a delightful and energetic young man, full of creative ideas. His love for Jesus and his commitment to serve him has been evident as we have come to know him. Jacob holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Truett Seminary, a Master of Church Music from Baylor, and is currently completing his Doctor of Philosophy in Church Music at Baylor. He has experience leading music in a church setting, and has served as Seminary Worship Leader at Truett Seminary. His broad and ecumenical experience in planning and leading music events, teaching, mentoring students, directing youth and children’s choirs, choral directing, and planning church worship will make him a valuable addition to our church staff. – Ross W. Jacob was our team’s first interview, and I made many notes: thinker, passionate, values collaboration, achiever, brilliant. Baylor. Later when Mary Hamilton and I visited him in the church where he leads worship I made more notes: kind, leader, well-spoken, gentle, beautiful voice. As I looked back over my notebook the afternoon our search team met to make a decision on whether or not to call Jacob, I read this quote from him again: “I am willing to go on a journey… Where is God leading Trinity?” I’m so excited for Jacob and his fiancé Sarah to become a part of our church family and join us on this great journey. After much prayer, our search committee unanimously believes that God is calling Jacob to serve as Minister of Music and Worship Arts at Trinity Baptist Church. Jacob is a faithful follower of Christ who has committed his life to serving the Lord for the praise of His glory. God has abundantly gi ed Jacob with incredible musical talent, intelligence, energy, organization and godly character beyond his years. He has a servant’s heart, is extremely relational, and truly enjoys ministering to others. e key things I was looking for in a candidate, in addition to musical talent, was someone who has a passion for Christ, compassion for others and a desire to lead our congregation in worshipping God alone. Jacob fully meets these qualifications and will be a great blessing to our church. – Laura Dawson

I am extremely excited to call Jacob Sensenig to Trinity Baptist Church. In every interaction we have had, he has demonstrated honesty, thoughtfulness, and creativity. His resume is impressive, and everything he has done has been in service of his calling to ministry in general and music ministry in particular. I believe he will make an excellent addition to the TBC family, and will help create meaningful worship experiences in concert with the rest of the staff and congregation. First, I want to thank Mary Hamilton for her wonderful leadership of our search team during this process, as well as each of our team members who have worked so diligently to make the process work so well. We all felt God’s spirit moving within us throughout the entire search.

We are very blessed to have Jacob Sensenig as our new Minister of Music and Worship Arts. His love for the Lord and his love of music and arts were obvious to each of us from our first meeting with him. As we have gotten to know and observe him more during the course of the search, his spiritual maturity and giftedness have become more apparent. He has experience working with both large and small congregations, and as worked well with children, student, and adult choirs. On Sunday night I had the privilege of meeting our new candidate for Minister of Music and Worship Arts. Jacob Sensenig is a likable 30 year old with a heart for God and outstanding formal training in both music and ministry. He drew a unanimous vote from the search committee, trustees and personnel committee. It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that the Personnel Team unanimously voted to accept the recommendation of the search team to call Jacob Sensenig as the Minister of Music and Worship Arts. We all found him to be spiritually mature beyond his years and to be a servant leader with a Minister’s heart. Jacob’s educational background and resume are impressive. His love for faith based hymns is evident as well as his passion for engaging congregational praise and worship. Jacob has a true heart for the Lord which is obvious as he speaks with love about music and how it blesses the Kingdom.
