Learning to worship God through praise and prayer is one key to a victorious Christian life. Leading others to do the same is a great blessing. Involvement in the Ministry of Music and Worship Arts provides you the opportunity to experience both! Trinity Baptist offers a variety of opportunities for you to praise the Lord through vocal and instrumental music. Regardless of age or musical background, the Ministry of Music and Worship Arts has something to offer everyone!
Choir for adults age 18 and above. Chorale rehearses every Wednesday from 7pm-8:30pm in E250. The Trinity Chorale is the adult choir of Trinity Baptist Church that leads in Sanctuary worship on Sunday mornings on the Mulberry Campus. In addition, the Chorale presents special musical events throughout the year. There are no auditions just a willingness to commit to rehearse, worship and concerts with the Chorale. If you love to ‘make a joyful noise’ to the Lord, you are invited to be part of this group of caring adults who offer encouragement and support through learning more about God’s great gift of music. Trinity Baptist Music Scholars
Currently accepting applications for fall 2015. A scholarship program for vocal, instrumental and general music education students in area colleges and universities to provide a consistent environment to participate in church music leadership positions as they take part in singing in the Trinity Chorale, or playing in the Trinity Orchestra, or participating in Preschool and Children’s Choir Leadership positions. For instrumentalists ages 15 and above. Rehearsal times vary. Approximately twice a month. Leading in musical worship in Sanctuary once a month, the Trinity Orchestra welcomes instrumentalists, ages 15 and above, who play strings, woodwinds, brass or percussion. This wide collection of ages, experience and musical achievement rehearses approximately twice a month on Sundays, 12-1pm in E250, directed by Donn Wisdom. Participation as a soloist and in smaller ensembles occurs quite frequently for those interested. Members of the orchestra have additional opportunities to play in accompanying the Trinity Chorale in special concerts.
Crossings Worship Band
The Crossings Worship Band, involving vocalists and instrumentalists, leads Crossings worship each week at 10:45am at TriPoint. A separate rehearsal during the week, led by Taddy Schmitt – Contemporary Music and Worship Leader, prepares all involved in musical / technical leadership. Fanning Foyer Festivals
Located in the beautiful Fanning Foyer, adjacent to the Sanctuary, this chamber music concert series features professional and semi-professional musicians from the San Antonio area performing a variety of vocal, keyboard and instrumental music. Concerts are free, but donations are taken at the door.
Musical Nursing Home Ministry for Adults of all ages. Call (210) 733-6201 for rehearsal dates, homes and locations. Sonshine Singers began over 20 years ago and is one of the most rewarding opportunities anyone can enjoy. It not only offers nursing home residents fun entertainment, but also provides warm hand shakes, hugs and smiles to brighten their day. The main goal is to point folks to the Lord, but members are quick to admit that the serendipity of belonging to the group is the network of caring friends that Sonshine Singers provides. A 30-minute program of secular, patriotic and gospel music is memorized and choreographed during the first 6 weeks (rehearsals begin at 9am on Monday of the week following Labor Day at TriPoint. Starting the seventh week, two area nursing homes are visited each Monday. The group touches the lives of those in approximately 60 facilities over the fall, winter and spring. For a more unified appearance that also provides identity, specially designed outfits are worn, with new designs purchased every two years. There are no auditions and no fees. Preschool & Children’s Choir
Using the curriculum, Growing in Grace, Preschool and Children’s Choirs meet weekly during the school year on Wednesday, 6-6:50pm in the Children’s Center to learn about expressions of God’s love through music, scripture and worship. Click here to learn more about the Preschool & Children’s Choir.
