A Father’s Touch to Heal
When we are together -in our summer dresses, shorts, and short sleeve shirts – I sometimes ask friends to tell the story of a scar they bear. We all have at least one scar and a story of what happened that caused the scar. And through these stories we better know each other. Our scar stories reveal that we can all be hurt and we can all be healed.
Hurts to our bodies and souls happen along the way. But with every hurt, God provides a way for us to be healed. God wants us to put “skin in the game”. He wants us to commit our hearts. He doesn’t want us to live in fear. Which is why the Psalmist wrote, “God heals those with broken hearts. He takes care of their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)
God wants us to know that as the Great Physician, He can heal the human heart with a Father’s touch. And in God’s care, with each wound healed, the wound becomes a source of wisdom to help others on their journey
