Serving Him Together
Debbie Potter, Children’s & Women’s Pastor
Sunday night, February 28 was an exciting evening of fun, fellowship, and families. We embarked to the Northwoods Ice Skating Rink for our 2nd annual Family Ice Skating Adventure. The goal of this particular event was three-fold for:
- Families to interact with each other
- Families to buy a ticket to give to another family and
- Good old-fashioned fellowship.
With close to 250 in attendance, these three goals were accomplished. One third of those in attendance were guests. As time for the event approached, a long line began to form in the lobby of the rink. One of our Trinity members, Jay Raposo, saw a family in the lobby who wanted to skate and realized it was closed for a private event. They had a little boy who became quite sad. Jay quickly assessed the problem and ministered to the young family by inviting them to join our church event. Outreach happened right in the line. He visited with them and made a great Trinity connection. After the event they wanted more information about our church, which we were happy to supply.
It is awesome to serve in a church that values children and their families. Your offerings help support this event by subsidizing the ticket cost so families could not only afford it for themselves, but also to buy tickets for others. Praise be to God!
