Angel Food Ministry

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, Non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief to communities throughout the USA. The Angel Food Ministry of TBC coordinates the distribution of food ordered and purchased through Angel Food Ministries (national) organization to those families and individuals within and without the Trinity membership. Time involved: one Saturday morning a month, and as needed to assist with order taking on Sunday mornings.


Baptism

This team assists with the ordinance of baptism. Baptisms are conducted as requested. Team members rotate. Time involved: approximately 30 to 45 minutes prior to Worship Service to ensure that all candidates are properly dressed and prepared, and about 20 minutes after the candidates are baptized.


C.A.R.E. Ministry

This team ministers to persons in Care centers, Assisted living, Resident homes, Etc. (Rehab) through visits, telephone calls, and cards. Time involved: Periodic hourly meetings and/or time involved for visits, calls or sending cards.


C.A.R.T. Ministry (Christian Action Repair Team)

This team does repairs and construction-related work for those in need in our church family and immediate community (elderly, disabled, low-income, etc.) Team members obtain materials necessary to do the jobs (either through donation of supplies and money or from church budget as available). In some cases the person may already have the supplies, but not be able to afford the labor cost. C.A.R.T. is also used as a missional training tool for Trinity's youth under the guidance of the appropriate pastoral staff and team leader. This teaches skills useful in promoting our commission to "go and teach." Time involved: 2-8 hours a month.


Children's Ministry Leadership

The Children's Ministry Leadership teams are put in place to assist the Children's Pastor in reaching the mission goals for planning, organizing, and implementing various ministry programs and activities. The teams will meet on an as needed basis. These teams consist of Sunday School Directors Team, Wednesday Nite Live Leadership Team, Worship Care Leadership Team, Sunday Morning Greeters Team, Special Events Team, and Camp Team. Church membership and background checks are required to serve in any position within the Children's Ministry.


Church Van Drivers

This team's responsibilities will be distributed among several volunteers. A driver is responsible to safely transport participants to and from church-related or church-sponsored activities. Ministries requiring church vans for their activities must supply their own (approved) drivers. All drivers must have their CDL drivers license on file in the church office, pass a background check and be approved by our insurance carrier. Drivers may also assist with delivering the bus to vendors for maintenance.


Communication

This team coordinates communication and media needs, including the church website, newsletter, weekly publications, TV spots, promotional material and promotion of church events, programs and ministries. This team is responsible for internal and external church communications in conjunction with the annual ministry plan.


Crisis Outreach/Disaster Relief

This team responds to local, state, or National Disasters. During times of disaster, ministry volunteers serve in a shelter of "special needs" evacuees under the direction of Baptist Child and Family Services, and when on-site assistance is required, serve with Texas Baptist Men (which includes men and women). All types of skills are needed, and training is provided. Time involved: as needed when a disaster occurs and periodic meetings and training sessions.


Food Service Support

This team assists in serving our members and guests at Wednesday night dinner and other church-wide events: ie. Welcome Receptions, Retirements, etc. Time involved: Approximately 2 hours on the Wednesday you serve as well as the time involved for special events as needed.


His Helping Hands

This team assists those TBC members/close community who have long term health needs in order to maintain their independence for as long as possible by providing simple assistance. Team members help those in need by providing non- medical assistance with tasks such as picking up groceries, running errands, providing a ride to the doctor, or friendly visiting. Time involved: As needed to provide assistance.


History

The History Team will document and record the history of Trinity Baptist Church. This will include the preservation of relevant documents and memorabilia. At appropriate times historical information will be published and made available to the public.


Hospitality/Welcome

This team welcomes guests when they enter the church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, providing a friendly greeting. In addition members of the team man the Welcome Center located in the Fanning Foyer, and in the Reception Area, directing guests to TBC4U, Bible Fellowship classes or other locations in the church. Time involved: approximately 2 hours on Sunday or Wednesday.


Library Media Center

The team serves the church body and staff through the provision of books and audio-visual materials. This is a working team (reader and lover of books). Members regularly volunteer in the library and assist with special projects as needed. They should be comfortable using a computer and will be taught how to use the library's system. Time involved: meetings are held as needed.


Living Bread

This team has two areas of service; 1) Bread bakers: Prepare and bake the bread for TBC guests on Sundays and bring it to the church on the Sunday morning they serve; 2) Greeters: Greet guests at the Welcome Center and present them with the fresh baked bread in a gift bag following the worship services. Time involved would be approximately 45 minutes on the Sunday they serve.


Lord's Supper

This team prepares the elements for the Lord's Supper, and helps with cleaning up after worship is completed. The Lord's Supper is traditionally served Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Easter and about 6 other times during the year as directed by the pastor. Time involved: approximately two hours of preparation and clean- up time (depending on the # of volunteers that assist).


Men's Ministry

The Men's Ministry builds the fellowship and spiritual maturity of men through inspirational monthly breakfasts, small groups, fun activities, programs and informal ministries for the development of Christian men.


New Member

This team greets new members after each Sunday morning worship service to welcome them into the church and to invite them to TBC4U. The team follows up with phone calls and prayers to encourage connection and involvement in the church. One organizational meeting, telephone calls as needed and one morning service a month.


Offering Counting

This team, on a rotating basis, counts and prepares the weekly offerings for deposit. The 25-30 team members serve on groups of 5-6 members that count the offerings each Sunday. Should be able to work with others and maintain strict confidence with respect to contributions and have counting ability. Time involved: approximately 2 hours on the Sunday you serve. Church membership is required.


Online Community Ministry

This team will be responsible for making maximum usage of social networking resources to effectively minister through the internet.


Outreach

This team is comprised of Sunday School outreach directors and others interested in reaching the San Antonio regions for Christ. Strategic thinking, contagious enthusiasm, and cooperative applications are shared with the team to facilitate the spiritual and numerical growth of TBC. Our welcoming, inclusive purpose is to help seekers become believers, and believers to become disciples through the Trinity Family ministry life.


Prayer Ministry

This ministry promotes, engages in, and supports praying for individuals, our church, community, national and global needs. This ministry enables individuals to be Prayer Intercessors through the TBC Prayer Room, PIT Crew (Pastoral Intercessory Team) through our Prayer Ministry, Prayer Groups, Special Prayer emphasis, Worship Intercessors, prayer classes and other spiritual concerns as God leads. Time involved: Monthly meetings or as required.


Staff Support

Three opportunities to assist, appreciate and pray for our TBC staff (Pastoral, Administrative, Custodial)

1. Administrative Angels

A group of people recruited, trained and motivated to perform various administrative tasks for our administrative assistants (copying, stuffing envelopes, answering phones, etc.) Wednesdays and Thursdays preferred.

2. Staff Appreciation

a). A group of people recruited, trained and motivated to help show appreciation monthly to all of our TBC staff. Yearly theme, birthday treats and monthly goodies already planned. Team members choose one month to serve once, plus help prepare and serve an annual planned luncheon.

b). A group of people recruited and motivated to bake pies for Thanksgiving for every TBC staff member.


TriPoint Relational

This team consists of ambassadors from TBC at TriPoint and provide relational care and spiritual discernment of the needs for the community who come to the TriPoint campus.


Ushers

This team ministers to the needs of the sanctuary and foyer during Sunday services by setting up the sanctuary, assisting with usher assignments, and meeting the needs of the congregation upon entering and exiting the church. They also serve at special events during the year. Time involved: 2 hours on Sunday mornings and a 1 hour meeting approximately every 3 months.


Women's Ministry Team

The goal of the Women's Ministry Team is to assist the Women's Pastor in providing opportunities for spiritual growth, mentoring, relationship building and service for women of all ages. Under the leadership of the Women's Pastor, the Women's Ministry Team is comprised of two equally important component teams that together allow its members to "Use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms" I Peter 4:10. The first component team is an executive planning team whose purpose is to directly assist the Women's Pastor in the planning and organization of various opportunities for women. The second component team is a service focused team whose function is to actively carry out the various Women's Ministry opportunities made available to women. Both components of the team will meet on an as needed basis as directed by the Women's Pastor. Church membership is required in order to serve on the Women's Ministry Team


Sew & Sow

The women of the Sew & Sow ministry use our sewing and handwork talents to touch the lives of those who need God's comfort. We have recently focused on creating blankets and pillows to be given to children from broken families. We meet together weekly on Monday mornings 9-11:30am, room 400 at the Ruble Center to sew, pray, and encourage one another. All supplies are provided, including sewing machines. Come join your talents with ours or come learn to sew!
