“Go ye into all the world…”
Those last words of our Lord in Matthew 28:19-20 give us our command. The call is clear.
Trinity's Missions Team seeks to enable every Trinity member to fulfill our God-given commission to care for the world where we live. We refer to Acts 1:8 for the world scope of our task. Luke 4:18 shows us how Jesus saw his ministry. As His followers we seek to model our work after His.
The Missions Team receives 10% of the church tithes and offerings. Prayerful consideration and much study leads us to divide those funds for missions for San Antonio, throughout Texas, to Latin America and the ends of the earth. We also seek to provide our members opportunities to carry out their mission in San Antonio by working at Baptist University of the Americas, Habitat for Humanity, Baptist Child and Family Services, food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless and aid for struggling churches in our community.
Our church members aid projects throughout Texas to our prisons, children's homes, and colonias on our border. We are planning projects in Central and South America. In Europe we support projects in the East through Baptist Child and Family Services, and we give for scholarships to International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague. We are planning a mission trip to Ghana in 2010.
A part of our effort is directed toward cooperative missions because we believe that we can do more together.
Our goal is for every member to be engaged actively in carrying out Christ's commission.
