Reflections

D. Leslie Hollon, Ph.D., Senior Pastor

The draft of this vision was formed by: listening to the Spirit, listening to our church family, listening to voices from San Antonio and regions of the world, and discerning how God is working in the 21st century Church. The Pastoral Staff and Trustees have particularly helped me in this discernment process. Strategies and resources for application are being and will be developed by ministry teams for each objective. Through the future conversations, prayers, and actions that we will pursue, our vision and organizational energies will be sharpened. Your life purpose, personality, passion, talent, time, and financial resources will find great fulfillment by partnering in “The Trinity 2015 Vision.”

Words of Wisdom

Donn Wisdom, Minister of Music & Worship Arts

The Lord is good and gracious to His people. Trinity has been blessed with the talent and commitment of Martin Cherry as Interim Production Director and Debbie McNeil, assisting as pianist until permanent persons could be hired. We are very grateful for the contributions of both of these gifted individuals in staying with us until both positions could be filled. I am happy to announce that Michael Madison is now our Production Director and Zachary Ridgway is now our Church Pianist.

Pre-Teen Camp 2010

We are very excited to be attending this summer camp facility again this year! Mo-Ranch is a 500 acre facility located on the North Fork of the Guadalupe River in the scenic Texas Hill Country. Mo-Ranch is located 11 miles outside the small town of Hunt, Texas. We hope that you will allow your son or daughter to attend camp with us this year. As you can see in this brochure, there are many options available to our group so we can enjoy the awesome scenery that God gave us, while experiencing great fun and fellowship with our friends!! Be sure to look for the brochure for Pre-Teen Camp arounttd campus or on our website at www.trinitybaptist.org/preteencamp.

Summer Stewardship

Julian Stewart, Member of Stewardship Team

Summer has arrived. It’s time for family vacations, Vacation Bible School, fun in the sun for the kids and carefree times until school resumes in the fall. The carefree days of summer can also create a problem - a “slump” in our giving because many of our church families are away on vacation for days and sometimes weeks at a time.

Is Trinity a Missional Church?

By Rita Kay Driggers

When our Sunday School lesson last year contained the word missional, I said to our teacher, “I have never heard that word before. What does it mean?” Less than a year has passed since that conversation, and now I hear the word missional all the time! Is it just a trendy new buzz-word for the more old-fashioned word missions? Or does it carry a different connotation? My search of the internet turned up a paradigm shift when it comes to churches. No longer is a church’s success determined by bigger buildings, more people, larger staffs and more programs to serve the membership. Instead the success of a missional church is determined by the extent to which every believer is reaching out to others. The emphasis has shifted from seating to sending!
