Jesus said whoever has ears to hear, then hear. The “hearing” means we are to listen, comprehend, and then apply Jesus’ message. As the Trinity family, we are uniquely engaging Jesus’ challenge by our “listening through the New Testament” emphasis.

Faith Comes by Hearing: a 40-Day Journey Through the New Testament

Maybe you have said it often: “I would like to study the Bible more than I do. But I just can not find the time.”
Indeed, for most of us, our days are urgently busy with overly full schedules. Many are juggling commuting, work, children, volunteer activities and more. It is hard to find a moment to sit down and read the Bible without numerous distractions. Time for Bible study slips away even when we have the best of intentions.

Trinity Responds to the Crisis in Haiti
In recent weeks, the hearts of the world have been broken by the unfolding crisis in the nation of Haiti, which was struck by a massive earthquake on January 10.
The effects of the earthquake have been positively devastating for the people of Haiti. The capital city, Port-au-Prince, was heavily damaged, with Haitian President Rene Preval estimating that nearly 170,000 bodies have been recovered from the wreckage. The International Red Cross estimates that about three million people have been affected by the disaster.

Meet Tabitha Williams, Trinity’s New Receptionist
When you call or visit Trinity Baptist Church, you will be greeted by a new voice - the voice of Tabitha Williams, our new receptionist.
Tabitha joined the Trinity staff in December of 2009, just days before the retirement of Donna Floyd, Trinity’s previous receptionist. Donna and Tabitha spent those days together, with Donna helping Tabitha learn the ins and outs of Trinity. Donna officially retired on December 31, and Tabitha took over the receptionist responsibilities on a full-time basis January 1.

Music Notes

This last Sunday, the Chorale sang what has become one of my favorite choral pieces, “God Shall Wipe Away All Tears.” The text to the song, taken from the book of Revelation, is an incredibly powerful statement of the promises of God for His return. I particularly love the line:
No fear, no death, no sorrow, no pain, for God Himself will be with them and be their God.
