From the Heart of Les

Thank you for the privilege of inviting me to come to Trinity in view of becoming your Senior Pastor.  When I was a boy, growing up in nearby Boerne, you influenced me by your humble faith in God and bold style of ministry.  From you I first learned what it meant to be a local church with global impact.  Through the years I have loved, respected, and prayed for you.

As my conversations with the Pastor Search Team progressed from one stage to the next stage, I felt God’s peace assuring me to go forward.  Along the way I sensed the Spirit saying, “Trust me. Just trust me and I will lead you to the right decision.”  Your Pastor Search Team, as you know, is a remarkable group of people who have faithfully served God and you by how they have handled their significant responsibilities.  As a family, the Hollons have come to love and trust them.  Through their diligent efforts I know Trinity’s current joys and challenges.

I feel God’s call as a servant leader to be your shepherd, as together we successfully pursue God’s vision for the future.  Through the coming years, I am confident that I will consider being your Senior Pastor as one of the greatest gifts God could grant me.  My calling faithfully will stir me to preach messages of life-application from God’s Word, to shepherd you through spiritual leadership, to evangelize with you in helping seekers to become believers and believers becoming disciples, to pray and counsel with you during life’s most pleasant and painful moments, to serve in missions with you across San Antonio and around the world, and to grow with you “in the fullness and stature of Jesus Christ.”

Though I have the frailties of being human, I will consistently be a person whom you know as your pastor that you can trust, love, grow with, and work alongside.

The 21st century needs the bold gospel witness of Trinity Baptist Church. Before us is an exciting adventure filled with spiritual & numerical growth.  Thanks be to God and you for this opportunity.
