Ed Nelson

Church Administrator

(Click here to see information about the staff Ed is leading.)

Ed was raised in Chile, where his parents served as missionaries. He completed high school in El Paso, Texas, and was graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Education. While at Baylor, he worked for ARAMARK foodservices, and that led to a 25 year career that had stops in Sherman, San Antonio and Houston, Texas. In 1992 he was selected to lead ARAMARK’s efforts to provide foodservices for the Athletes Villages at the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. After the Olympics, he relocated to Philadelphia, PA where he helped ARAMARK develop business in Mexico, Korea and Spain. He served as the expatriate Chief Operating Officer for ARAMARK’s joint venture with HUSA, a Spanish hospitality company. He completed his foodservices career in Dallas, Texas, as a Regional Vice President in the Healthcare sector.

Ed’s other career ventures have taken him to the luxury skin care market, where he managed the USA subsidiary of a Spanish company that served high-end retailers like Nieman Marcus, Bergdorf-Goodman, and Barneys of New York.

He also worked for RSI, Inc., the stewardship consulting company, and was part of the team that raised over $200 Million for the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Early in the journey, the Lord blessed him with a wonderful wife, Patty Patterson, and two great kids. Patty is pursuing an Ed.D. at Baylor, and their daughter, Michal is pursuing her Masters in Music Education, also at Baylor. Their son, Edward III, Tres, is a freshman music major at ETBU.

Before being called to Trinity as Church Administrator, he served his previous home church, First Baptist Church of Keller, TX, for seven years, as their administrator.

Ed loves to cook, travel, is an avid reader, and can occasionally be found on the golf course.
