Administrative Teams

 

Clerks - The clerks keep a record of all proceedings of the church

        in business meetings with such assistance from a staff member

        as may be needed; keep and make available at business

        meeting copies of bylaws, personnel policies and procedures

        handbook and any other rules adopted by the church; and

        are familiar with methods and practices used in the church

        office to maintain a correct register of church members.

        Church membership is required.

 

Facilities (Building/Prop. Maintenance/First Response/Decorating)

        – The Facilities team shall have the overall responsibility for re-

        commending to the Church the acquisition, construction,

        maintenance, development or disposition of Church property.

        Church membership is required.

 

Finance - The Finance team shall facilitate the development of an

        annual church budget and oversee the financial operations of

        the church. Additional responsibilities include advising in

        matters of investing monies accumulated from bequests

        and/or estates. CPA’s and members experienced in finance

        and investments would be helpful. Time involved:

        approximately 2 hour monthly meetings.

Church membership of at least one year is required.

 

Governance – The Governance team shall regularly review the

        Church Governance Documents and ensure that the actions

        of the Church (whether acting through the Trustees, Teams,

        staff or otherwise) are executed in accordance with its Church

        Governance Documents. The Governance Team shall also

        review the charter, policies and procedures of every Church

        Organization for any gaps and overlaps in their respective

        scopes of responsibilities and to ensure policies and processes

        are in compliance with the Church Governance Documents.

        Exhibit an overall knowledge of church policy and activities.

        Each member should be knowledgeable of the content of the

        bylaws. Time involved: As needed.

        Church membership is required.

 

Membership - The Membership team shall investigate and report

        to the church on any question regarding admission or dismissal

        of members in accordance with its policies and procedures.

        The Team shall report to the Church in a timely manner,

        generally within thirty days of the question being submitted.

        Church membership is required.

 

Missions Team - This team works with the Missions staff to

        recommend to the Church the Missions Strategy, identify and

        develop to the Church mission opportunities, mission projects

        to be undertaken and funded by the church, and educate

        the church about Missions. Church membership is required to

        serve on the Mission Team but not to participate in Mission

        work.

 

Personnel – The Personnel team evaluates staffing needs,

        compensation and benefits of employed personnel within the

        framework of budget and legal requirements and administers

        personnel policy as adopted by the church. Members should

        be experienced in employment rules and human resource

        issues. Time involved: 2 hour meetings are held 8-9 times a year.

        Church Membership of at least one year is required.

 

Stewardship – The Stewardship team encourages and educates

        church members to be good stewards of their time, talents,

        and treasures, and supports and promotes the budget

        process. Members exhibit a Biblical knowledge of giving and

        stewardship by holding a belief that stewardship is a spiritual

        issue and not a money issue. Time involved: 1 hour monthly

        meetings. Church membership is required.
